Terms of Service

1. What Deskreddi Is

Deskreddi is a preparation tool for students and job seekers getting ready for finance-related interviews. It includes lessons, a library of practice questions, interview frameworks for common interview questions, and a Markets section with prices, economic data, and headlines. Paid Pro subscribers also get a market recap, an Industry Tracker, and a limited number of live, AI-led mock interviews each month. The Service is provided for educational and preparation purposes only, and features may be added, changed, paused, or removed at any time.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to use Deskreddi. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. We keep a record of when you agreed to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and which version you agreed to. Let us know right away at support@deskreddi.com if you think your account has been compromised.

3. AI-Generated Content

Deskreddi uses third-party AI services to write parts of the Service, including the market recap, the weekly Industry Tracker breakdowns, and (when it is available) the mock interviewer and its feedback. This means:

• AI-written content, including the mock interviewer's questions and feedback, may contain mistakes, omissions, or content that doesn't reflect real interviewer behavior.
• Market data, commentary, recaps, and industry breakdowns are AI-assisted, drawn from third-party sources, and may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Nothing on Deskreddi is investment, financial, legal, or career advice, and none of it should be relied on for making financial or trading decisions.
• Practice question answers and lessons are written to be accurate, but we can't guarantee they're error-free. If you spot a mistake, tell us at support@deskreddi.com.

4. The Mock Interview Feature

The mock interview feature uses your device's microphone to have a live spoken conversation with an AI interviewer. By using it, you consent to your voice being captured and transmitted to our AI service providers for processing (see the Privacy Policy for details). It is available on paid plans and is limited to a fixed number of interviews per month to manage costs, and those limits may change at any time.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that violates these Terms;
• Attempt to access another user's account, or share your own account with others in a way that circumvents any usage limits or plan restrictions;
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract content from the Service;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including attempting to overload or abuse the AI-powered features;
• Use the Service to generate content that is harmful, harassing, or unlawful.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

6. Plans, Billing, and Subscriptions

• Deskreddi has a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. What each includes is described on the Upgrade page and may change over time.
• Pro is a subscription billed monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout (in Canadian dollars), and it renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Taxes may apply.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• You can cancel at any time from your Account page (Manage or cancel subscription). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro until then. Except where the law requires otherwise, we don't provide refunds for a billing period that has already started.
• If we change the price of a plan, we'll give you notice before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
• If a payment fails or a subscription ends, your account returns to the Free plan.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its practice questions, lessons, design, and underlying software, is owned by Deskreddi (or its licensors) and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may use it for your own personal interview preparation. You may not copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service's content without our permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will help you get a job or perform well in any actual interview. Deskreddi is a practice tool, not a guarantee of interview or career outcomes.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deskreddi won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for any decisions you make based on its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount (if any) you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Ending Your Account

You can stop using Deskreddi and delete your account at any time from your Account page. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, your data, and your sign-in, and immediately cancels any subscription without a refund for the current period. This can't be undone. You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing support@deskreddi.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or if we discontinue the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and ask you to agree to the updated Terms the next time you use the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
