Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Deskreddi collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Deskreddi website and application (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your first and last name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares (name and email). Your password is managed directly by our authentication provider (Supabase), and we never see it in plain text. We also record when you agreed to our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, and which version you agreed to.

Plan and billing information. We store which plan you're on and the status of your subscription, along with an identifier for you at our payment processor (Stripe). Your payment card details are entered on Stripe's pages and handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Mock interview data. When you use the live mock interview feature, we collect and store:

  • The topics and track you selected for the session;
  • The audio captured from your microphone during the session, which is streamed to our AI voice provider (OpenAI) for real-time processing and is not stored by us as an audio file;
  • A text transcript of the conversation;
  • The AI-generated feedback and scorecard produced after the session;
  • Session metadata like start and end time, duration, and status.

Usage of the Service. We keep an internal activity log of key account events, such as when you sign up, when your plan changes, and mock interview activity (the track, length, and status of a session). It includes your email address, and we use it to understand how the Service is used and to help with support requests. We may also log basic technical information (like error logs) to keep the Service running reliably. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising tracking tools, and we don't sell your data to anyone.

We are not currently recording your individual answers or scores on practice questions or lessons; that history is not stored against your account today. If that changes, we'll update this policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and manage your account;
  • Process payments and manage your subscription, and give you access to the features of your plan;
  • Run the mock interview feature and generate your feedback;
  • Respond to support requests;
  • Keep the Service secure and working properly;
  • Improve Deskreddi over time.

3. Who We Share Information With

We share information with the service providers who help us run Deskreddi, each of whom is only given what they need to do their job:

  • Supabase: authentication and database hosting;
  • Stripe: processes payments and subscriptions (your name, email, and payment details);
  • OpenAI: powers the live, voice-based mock interview (your microphone audio and the resulting transcript are sent here for real-time processing);
  • Anthropic (Claude): generates the post-interview feedback scorecard from your session transcript, and writes market commentary and industry breakdowns (using public market data, not your personal information);
  • Resend: sends account-related emails (like confirming your email address or resetting your password);
  • Google (Google Sheets) and Composio: our internal activity log is kept in a Google spreadsheet, and Composio is the automation service that adds entries to it;
  • Vercel: hosts the application.

We also pull public market and economic data from providers like Finnhub, FRED, Yahoo Finance, SEC EDGAR, and the Bank of Canada to power the Markets page. These providers don't receive any of your personal information; we're only requesting public market data from them.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Deskreddi or others.

4. Cookies

We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely (set by our authentication provider, Supabase). We don't use advertising or marketing cookies. If you subscribe, checkout happens on a page hosted by Stripe, which sets its own cookies under its own policies.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Mock interview transcripts and feedback are kept so you can review your past sessions, until you delete your account.

You can delete your account yourself at any time from your Account page. Deleting it permanently removes your profile, your sign-in, and your interview history, and cancels any subscription. Your email address is also removed from our internal activity log. Some information may remain for a limited time where the law requires it (for example, Stripe keeps payment and tax records), and copies may persist for a short period in our providers' backups before they're overwritten.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You can review and update your account information, change your password, manage your subscription, and delete your account from your Account page. You can ask us to access or correct your personal information, or ask any question about how we handle it, by emailing support@deskreddi.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time. You can withdraw your consent to our handling of your information by deleting your account. If you're in Canada and have a concern we haven't resolved, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

7. Children's Privacy

Deskreddi is intended for users 16 and older and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

8. International Data

Our main database is hosted in Canada. Some of our other service providers may process and store information outside of Canada, including in the United States. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are material, we'll ask you to agree to the updated policy the next time you use the Service.
